Two of the most significant men in early Christianity, Saint Peter and Saint Paul were martyred in Rome during the persecutions ordered by the emperor Nero on June 28, 67 AD. Each has a church in Rome dedicated to them: Saint Peters Basilica, of course....and the Basilica of Saint Paul's Outside the Walls.
