Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, a nun of the Order of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She ran along the way of perfection in an extraordinary manner and, endowed with mystical gifts, she was particularly zealous in her devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, accomplishing much to promote that cult throughout the Church.
She fell asleep in the Lord at Paray-le-Monial in the territory of Autun in France, on the seventeenth of October.
