This title is given to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Our Lady, Star of the Sea is the patroness of the Netherlands as well as Hawaii. It is also the name given to the Apostleship of the Sea (officially named Stella Maris), a Catholic apostolate providing pastoral, practical and spiritual support to seafarers via their port chaplains and ship visitors in ports around the world.
There are many churches that bear this name, including one in Corpus Christi, Texas, this one off the coast of Florida and this one in San Francisco.
