About Saint Mary, Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Saint Petersburg, Florida:
Founded in 1920 (some sources list 1922 as the official year of establishment) by the Franciscan Friars, Third Order Regular (T.O.R.), Saint Mary, Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church is the first Catholic parish established in Saint Petersburg, Florida, It has served the community for over a century, beginning under the leadership of Rev. James J. O’Riordan, STL, who served as pastor from 1920 to 1941.
The first Pastor was Rev. James J. O’Riordan, STL (1920–1941) and has been administered by successive Franciscan T.O.R. leaders, including Rev. Damian-Vincent Amantia.
