Round Top, Texas: Saint Martin’s Catholic Church

About Saint Martin’s Catholic Church in Round Top, Texas:

Arguably the Worlds Smallest Active Catholic Church (192 square feet), Saint Martin’s is built entirely of wood, with no electricity or insulation, and seats only about twenty people. The original St. Martin’s was constructed in 1888 but later dismantled in 1915, with its lumber repurposed to build a school for Saint John the Baptist in nearby Fayetteville. From the remaining wood, parishioners constructed the current St. Martin’s, preserving its humble legacy

Mass is celebrated once a month, offered for the intentions left by visitors. Its simplicity—plain yet profoundly beautiful—makes it a cherished place of prayer.
