Juneau, Alaska: Alaskan Port Ministry

About the Alaskan Port Ministry in Juneau, Alaska:

Most cruises to Alaska pay a call at Juneau, and of course there are many Catholics on board.  Some days there are up to 5 cruise ships in port, and many of them dock on Saturday or Sunday.

You would like to attend either Saturday Vigil Mass or Sunday Mass, but how will you get there? It’s quite a hike uphill to the Cathedral, and not easy, especially if you don’t know where you are going. In most cases the concierge on your ship should be able to give you the Mass times.

Van to take cruise passengers to Mass in Juneau, AlaskaUntil recently, the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Juneau had a port ministry that would pick you up from the ship and bring you back, even those in wheel chairs.  Unfortunately their van broke down and no longer offer this service.
