Have you heard of New York Encounter?

Now in its 15th year, New York Encounter is an annual three-day cultural event in the heart of New York City, offering opportunities for education, dialogue, and friendship.

The New York Encounter strives to witness to the new life and knowledge generated by the faith, following Pope Benedict XVIโ€™s claim that โ€œthe intelligence of faith has to become the intelligence of reality.โ€ In pursuit of this goalโ€”and according to St. Paulโ€™s suggestion to โ€œtest everything and retain what is goodโ€โ€”the Encounter aims to discover, affirm, and offer to everyone truly human expressions of the desire for truth, beauty, and justice. The Encounter, thus, becomes a meeting point for people of different beliefs, traditions, and cultures striving for reciprocal understanding, mutual building, and true friendship.

The theme this year is: โ€œWho Am I That You Care for Me?โ€

Among the highlights will be Sunday February 19 with Mass offered for Pope Francisโ€™ intentions for peace, celebrated by Cardinal Sean Oโ€™Malley, Archbishop of Boston.
