Jamaica, Vermont: Our Lady of Ephesus House of Prayer
The Story of Ephesus:
Ephesus, in modern-day Turkey, is recognized as the place to which the Disciple John took the Blessed Mother to live with him after Jesus was crucified. And it was from here that Our Lady was taken, body and soul, into heaven. As such, it is a very special place and has been re-created in exacting detail here in Vermont.
About Our Lady of Ephesus House of Prayer in Vermont:

For those who visit here, you can get a glimpse of what that might have looked like back in that time. The House of Prayer was formed in 1994 and is located in southern Vermont, offering a peaceful place for prayer and reflection. Here on the grounds is a replica of the house in Turkey. It is as realistic as possible, so definitely worth a visit.
The center has a Rosary Cenacle, Stations of the Cross during Sundays in Lent (on snowshoes–with hot chocolate afterwards!), Divine Mercy Sunday observance, celebrations on the Feast of the Assumption (August 15).
In addition there is a festival of lights in December and opportunities to stay in their facility or in one of several nearby motels.
