Nine years before arriving in the U.S.A., St Frances Xavier Cabrini founded the Institute of Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus here in Codogna.
About Centro di Spiritualità Santa Francesca Cabrini (Center of Spirituality):
There is a small museum located at this center, and a relic of her heart is kept in the convent chapel.
It is best to call ahead prior to visiting to reserve a tour.

Traveling to Codogno:
The town is about 40 miles south of Milan (there are many trains each day). You might also want to include a stop at the birthplace of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini, which is along the way in the town of Sant’Angelo Lodigiano, although that route is a combination of train and bus.
