Catholic Shrines & Places of Interest in Budapest, Hungary

About Budapest:

Much of Hungarian life and culture centers around the city of Budapest. Budapest is divided into the Buda and Pest (pronounced pesht if you want to sound like an local) sides of the Danube river and the two sides are connected by a series of bridges.

One of Eastern Europe’s more developed cities, and the economic hub of Hungary, it is a favorite stop of many land tours of Eastern Europe and also of many river cruises.   And, due to its rich Catholic history, there are many churches and shrines in the area.

Catholic shrines & places of interest in Budapest:

Basilica of Saint Stephen

Holy Spirit Church

Inner City Parish Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Our Lady of Remete

Check out one of these great Catholic river cruises from Select International Tours that include Budapest……with some of your favorite priests and group leaders (Fr Leo Patalinghug, Bishop Kurt Burnette, Fr. James Blount, Gus Lloyd & many others)
