Bayeux: Cathedral Notre Dame

About the Cathedral Notre Dame in Bayeux:

The cathedral of Notre-Dame in Bayeux is a mix of Romanesque in the 11th century crypt and Gothic from the 13th-century.  The Cathedral has beautiful stained glass windows and is definitely on of the finest in all of France.  After the Norman Conquest of 1066, it housed the Bayeux Tapestry for some time.  It is believed that it may have hung there at the time the Cathedral was consecrated in 1077 in the presence of William the Conqueror.

You will find sculpted scenes showing the life of Thomas Becket above the south portal that were added later.
