Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Saint Joseph’s Cathedral

About Abu Dhabi:

This capital city of the United Arab Emirates has a population close to one million, according to the official statistics. It is the center of government and much of the industry of the U.A.E.

This church was first blessed in 1965, when Sheikh Shakhbut, ruler of Abu Dhabi, granted land to build the church. When the congregation outgrew the original church, it was moved to the current location in 1983, where a new Parish Hall and priest residence were added.

Saint Joseph’s Cathedral has over 100,000 parishoners and offers several daily and Sunday Masses in English plus a host of other languages including Arabic, German, Spanish, Italian, Korean, Tagalog, Urdu and more. You can find the Mass schedule on their website.
