About the Synagogue Church:
Located in the heart of Nazareth, this church is controlled by the Melkite Greek Catholic Church (in full Communion with Rome). The floor is about 5 feet below ground level and, according to tradition, is the site of the Synagogue where Jesus prayed and one day preached (Luke 4:16-21).
The interior is simple: just a few benches and a plain altar. It is very quiet…a great place to stop for a few minutes and mediate.
