France (only) Feast of St Bernadette

Although the Feast of St Bernadette is celebrated throughout the world on April 18, it is actually celebrated on February 18 in France, the date of the third apparition of the Blessed Mother to young Bernadette Soubirous, and the first time that she spoke.
On 18th February 18, at 6 a.m., Bernadette had brought a pen, paper and ink with her and the lady instructed her: “What I have to say to you, does not have to be written down, but will you do me the honour of coming here for fifteen days?” She added these words for Bernadette: “I do not promise to make you happy in this world, but in the other.”
Her incorrupt body can be seen at the convent where she lived out her life in Nevers, France.
