Feast of Saint Giuseppe Moscati

Giuseppe Moscati was an Italian lay doctor and scientific researcher. In 1906, when Mount Vesuvius erupted, he helped save the life of many elderly and paralytic patients at the hospital where he was serving. He helped the citizens of Naples again in 1911 during a cholera epidemic by researching the origins of the disease and implementing ways to help slow its spread.

His tomb is here in Naples
