About the Chapel of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Tyler, Texas:
The influx of new residents to Texas in the late 20th century meant large increases in the population in many cities, and Tyler was no exception. By 1994, as the city of Tyler had grown and thousands were attending Masses every weekend at the Cathedral, there became a need for an additional site for the celebration of the Mass. St. Paul’s Chapel was created as a temporary facility in the Chancery Office while a permanent location was planned.
The patience of the parishioners was rewarded on December 8, 2011, when the Chapel of Saints Peter & Paul was dedicated by Bishop Alvaro Corrada.
