About Saint Peregrine:
Saint Peregrine Laziosi (1265-1345) is the patron saint of cancer patients ( not to be confused with another Saint Peregrine, who, as a boy, was martyred for the Faith in 197 AD) .
About the Saint Peregrine Cancer Shrine:
Dedicated to cancer patients, this shrine is open daily and offers perpetual adoration. The diagnosis of cancer can be a frightening thing, and the efforts of the Shrine do much to comfort those who have themselves been diagnosed with the disease, or for those whose relatives or friends are suffering from it.
Cancer patients and their families are invited to fill out prayer petitions, which are then posted on a wall at the shrine for a month.
Visitors to the shrine can also write notes of support and leave them in a drop box. These are then sorted out and delivered to patients.
