About Saint Stephen Catholic Church in Perth Amboy, New Jersey:
Saint Stephen Catholic Church became part of Saint John Paul II Parish on October 20, 2012. This parish was created as a result of the Diocese of Metuchun combining three parishes: Saint Stephen, Saint Mary and Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima.
Initially, the new parish was named Blessed John Paul II; following the saint’s canonization on April 27, 2021, it was re-named the Parish of Saint John Paul II. Currently, the parish has two churches in its area, St. Stephen and Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima.
The Redemptorists from the Warsaw Province had begun their ministry in the Parish of Saint Stephen in 2006, and later in the newly created Saint John Paul II Parish.
