About Saint Joseph of Laguna Mission:

The mission was built in 1699 and is built in the style of early pueblos.  It is a fortress-like structure, with only a few openings and one small window in the front.  The mission is famous for its interior:  original Laguna art and rare early Spanish paintings..

 

Traveling to Laguna Mission:

San Jose de la Laguna is about 40 miles west of Albuquerque, off of Interstate 40 at exit #114.

The church is open daily (no photography allowed) and tours can be arranged by calling in advance.   There is also a gift shop open from 9 am to 3 pm daily.
