Conyers, Georgia: The Monastery of the Holy Spirit

About the Monastery of the Holy Spirit:

One of the country’s most beautiful monasteries, and the only one in the state of Georgia, is located on the outskirts of Atlanta. Run by the Trappist Monks of the Cistercian Order who live according to the Rule of Saint Benedict. This means a life of prayer and contemplation in a cloistered setting.

Visitors are welcome.  The Monks offer a Bonsai nursery and garden center that is an education experience for young and old.

The grounds are beautiful and make a great location for those wishing to get away from the cares of the world for a few hours.

There is also a gift shop featuring items made by the Monks as well as a bakery and coffee shop.

Retreats are offered both on weekends and mid-week, and special retreats for groups can be arranged. There are Masses, prayers and devotions.
