About the National Shrine Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe:
Designed by Nicholas J. Clayton, it was dedicated in 1902, but did not include the bell tower and carillon originally planned. During a revamp of the Cathedral in 2002 the 224-foot bell tower and 49-bell carillon were finally added to the building.
In 2023 the Cathedral was designated as a National Shrine and is now known as The National Shrine Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
