About the Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center in Bloomington, Indiana:
The friars arrived in the Southern part of Indiana on February 16, 2005 to take charge of the spiritual works and services of the Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center, which was already in existence. In January 2015, the Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Refuge from Jalisco, Mexico, arrived at the retreat center to assist the friars and laity in the various works of the retreat center.
This friary is the center for the promotion, printing and distribution of the bi-monthly magazine “Missio Immaculatae International.” The friars and/or invited retreat masters give monthly retreats (except May and August) to those who have signed up for the retreats.
The friars are also available upon request to give talks, retreats, both individual or group, or days of reflection at other times during the week and month.
The retreat center can accommodate 90 persons in 29 rooms. It has a dining hall with a complete kitchen; a conference hall, a well maintained bookstore and gift shop and a Chapel and Marian Friary on top of the hill overlooking the beautiful retreat center grounds. The retreat center is opened for individual retreats, for families, the youth, seminarians and clergy alike. Every third weekend of the month, there is a retreat with about 30 to 50 persons, conducted by the friars or an invited retreat master.
The retreat center is also the home of WOMB (With Our Mother Blest) Catholic Radio 89.9FM which reaches the Bloomington/Ellettsville listening area. The friars and members of the MIM are involved in running the station. Also, the friars provide radio content to local Catholic radio stations like WHOJ 91.9FM (Heart of Jesus Radio) in Terre Haute Indiana and others.
AirMaria.com video apostolate is also run from the Bloomington friary. It publishes videos that promote our Marian, Franciscan, Catholic ideals in the footsteps of St. Maximilian Kolbe who used all legitimate means for this purpose but especially the latest technology available at his time. Videos include homilies and conferences from the Bloomington Chapel and Retreat Center and from our other friaries as well as various other videos and series from their collaborators.
