Bucharest: Baratia Church

About Baratia Church in Bucharest:

Although the current building dates from 1848, there was an earlier church here built by Franciscan monks in the 14th century.  The word Baratia means “brother” in Romanian, so that is where the church’s name comes from.  Its main focus today is to serve the needs of minority Catholics in Romania:  mainly Italian, German and Hungarian.
