Negril, Jamaica: Mary Gate of Heaven Roman Catholic Church

This area of Western Jamaica is home to several resorts popular with tourists, such as Sandals Resorts, Ocho Rios and others. There is a Catholic Church that welcomes them as well.

 

Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Church is run by the Franciscans and offers daily and Sunday Masses……..weekdays at 8:00 a.m., Saturday vigil Mass 5:00 p.m. (January through March), Sunday Mass at 10:00 a.m. Confessions by appointment.

According to the pastor, Fr. James Bok, OFM, it is a wonderful place for a wedding. Naturally, you would need to make the necessary preparations and make arrangements with the parish…..and remember…..Catholics don’t get married on the beach!  But the intimate setting of this parish will be something you will always remember.  When you visit the Church’s website you can find a section titled “weddings” that will help you plan that special event.
