About Palazzola:

Palazzola is a 13th-century Cistercian monastery is now owned by the Venerable English College, a seminary in Rome run by the Catholic Church in England and Wales. The monastery has been fully refurbished and modernised while still keeping its charm.

Situated just outside Rome, Palazzola is an ideal place to stay for those visiting the Eternal City who want to get away from the all the hustle and bustle of  of urban life, while still keeping close to all that Rome has to offer. They welcome travellers from all over the world for holidays, retreats, weddings, and conferences.  There is a variety of room accommodations available.

The whole College visits Palazzola several times a year (it is not then available for bookings). in the cooler hills of the Castelli region south of the city. This makes it especially attractive during the warm summer months in Rome.

The facilities include a garden, swimming, tennis and volleyball courts.  Like to take a stroll?  It is just a short walk from here (50 minutes or so) to Castel Gandolfo, summer palace of the Popes.  Or take a stroll in to the town of Albano.

When booking bear in mind that the whole College visits Palazzola several times a year, so it not available at those times.

 

Palazzola is a wonderful place for a destination wedding:

The Church here at the monastery (Our Lady of the Snows) has a history dating back to the 13th century.  And since it is a consecrated church, it is perfect for a Catholic wedding, unlike a secular location.

Traveling to Palazzola:

There is regular train service from from Roma Termini to Marino Laziale, the nearest station. If you need help organizing a local taxi from Marino to Palazzola, let them know and we will see to the booking.  You can see timetables and book tickets here.
