About the Basilica-Cathedral of Saint Michael in Sherbrooke, Quebec:

The basilica was decreed on July 31, 1959. The lower-half of the cathedral was constructed from 1914 to 1917. Due to a lack of funds, the upper half of the Cathedral was not completed until 1957.

The Cathedral of St Michael has 105 stained-glass windows crafted by Rafaël Lardeur of Paris. The large window of the façade depicts the four Evangelists.

The tomb of Blessed Marie-Léonia:

tomb of Blessed Marie-LéoniaThe Basilica-Cathedral of Saint Michael contains the tomb of Blessed Marie-Léonia, who founded the Little Sisters of the Holy Family in 1880.

 

Her tomb is in the southern transept, and there is a museum dedicated to her here in the Basilica. She is due to be canonized in October 2024.
