About New Norcia:

A community of Monks living under the rule of Saint Benedict is only part of the town of New Norcia, located in the territory of West Australia.

New Norcia was founded as a mission here in 1847. When you visit you can meet one of the Monks in the Monastery Parlor, browse the art gallery, tour the buildings and grounds and walk up the hill to the New Norcia Hotel.

While there you may wish to imbibe in a glass of Abbey Ale or New Norcia Abbey wine.

The museum here features various displays and also sells bread baked and other delicacies in New Norcia’s bakery.

Retreats are available for individuals and groups at the Monastery guesthouse and the Old Convent. Spiritual direction is available upon request.

The center includes a swimming pool (open during the summer), tennis and basketball courts, football and hockey ovals and river and bush walking trails.

​You are welcome to join the monks for the daily celebration of the Divine Office six times a day (a 1500 year-old tradition) in the Monastery Oratory and Mass in the Abbey Church.

The Abbey Church offers Mass Weekdays at 7:30 a.m. and Sundays at 9:00 a.m. Reconciliation is on Sundays at 8:45 a.m. or by appointment.
