Catholic shrines & places of interest in Shkoder:
The city is spelled two ways: Shkoder and Shkodar…so we are choosing the former. It is the capital of Albania, and is the center of Roman Catholicism in the country. Although much was destroyed by the Communists, the Cathedral remains. It was changed into an athletic facility during communism, which spared it from being razed, but has now been restored as a place of worship.
