Matagalpa, Nicaragua: Apante, The Mountain of Peace

About the Mountain of Peace on Apante:

This project is under the spiritual care of The Franciscan Friars of the Renewal.  On the summit of Apante stands a  108 foot (33 meter) Cross flanked by a 12 meter image of the Americas’ patroness, Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Thousands of pilgrims come here to pray as they follow the Stations of the Cross on up to the top of Apante, The Mountain of Peace.

About their “Coffee of The Cross”:

The Mountain of Peace project, through the John Paul II farm, endeavors to create a model of financial self-sustainability using nature-friendly crop production.

You can be a part of building the Shrine by buying their “Coffee of The Cross”.   You not only get great coffee delivered to your door, but you support this mission to protect and reforest the Apante Nature Reserve.
