Knock, Ireland (only) Local Feast of Our Lady of Knock

Locally, this is celebrated as the anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady of Knock.

Although the apparition occurred on August 21, the Feast of Our Lady of Knock is observed on August 17 in most of Ireland. This adjustment avoids conflict with the feast of St. Pius X, which is celebrated on August 21, allowing the focus to remain on Our Lady of Knock.

The feast is classified as a memorial in the liturgical calendar, and parishes across Ireland may hold Masses, recite the Rosary, and participate in processions to honor the Virgin Mary.
