They were beatified on May 13, 2000 by St. Pope John Paul II and were canonized on May 13, 2017 by Pope Francis. The beatification and canonization were both held in Fatima. Francisco and Jacinta are the patron saints of the youth and children, the captives and prisoners, the people ridiculed for their piety, and the sick people.
