About Saint Peter Catholic Center at Baylor University in Waco, Texas:
Baylor University is a private University that defines its Christian identity through a Baptist heritage and a “Christian university” model that integrates faith, scholarship, and service into the whole educational experience.
Despite the protestant history of the school, there is a strong Catholic presence here as well. Baylor University has a significant and active Catholic community, with about 14% of students identifying as Catholic and a dedicated campus ministry at St. Peter Catholic Student Center.
Many Catholic students choose Baylor for its academic rigor and program offerings, even though the University’s heritage is Baptist. As of fall 2025, 14.24% of Baylor’s students self‑identify as Catholic, making them the third‑largest religious group on campus after non-denominational and Baptist students.
The St. Peter Catholic Student Center is a ministry of the Diocese of Austin and the official ministry hub for Catholic life at Baylor. It offers daily and Sunday Masses (including Ordinary and Extraordinary Forms), Confession, Sacraments (Baptism, Eucharist, Reconciliation) as well as Community events such as the “St. Peter Supper” and hospitality programs
The Saint Peter Catholic Center has announced plans to build a new chapel, saying the pews are overflowing and the OCIA program is full.

Traveling to Waco, Texas:
Waco is approximately 90 miles south of Dallas, the nearest major city and a little over 100 miles north of Austin. Waco is served by Waco Regional Airport (ACT), located just 15–20 minutes from downtown Waco.
There is AMTRAK train service to McGregor, Texas, on The Texas Eagle route that runs daily between Chicago and San Antonio. The station is approximately 16 miles (26 km) east of Waco. The station was originally built as an Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway depot.
