About Saint Louis Catholic Church in Tallahassee, Florida:
On October of 1979 Bishop Rene Gracida established the Saint Louis Parish and appointed Father Dave McCreanor as it’s first pastor. The early masses were held at Talquin Electric until more permanent space was obtained at Capital Cinemas. The parish worshiped as a community at the movie theater for the next six years.
In 1985 the present day church was built as an all-purpose building hosting both masses and all other church functions. In 1997 Father Dave was replaced by Father Paul Stewart and the parish continued to flourish. As Saint Louis continued to grow, it became apparent that the all-purpose building was no longer sufficient in meeting the needs of the parish community.
In 2009 the Deacon Mack Shook parish hall was completed and provides both meeting space and classrooms for the church members. The following year the church was renovated into its present form providing a better place in which to worship.
