The Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist began in 1997 with our four foundresses: Mother Assumpta, Sr. Mary Samuel, Sr. Joseph Andrew, and Sr. John Dominic. We were canonically established by John Cardinal O’Connor of New York and built their Motherhouse in Ann Arbor, Michigan. They honor the centuries-old Dominican tradition while also fully embracing St. John Paul II’s call to a New Evangelization. Their foundresses believed that the spirituality of St. Dominic had much to contribute to the New Evangelization. They also knew that for their efforts to be successful, they needed to center their entire lives around the Eucharist. Theirs is a growing community with apostolates throughout the United States and even overseas!

The Motherhouse is the formation center of the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist. It is non‑parochial, meaning it is not a parish church but a religious house where the sisters live, form novices, and maintain their own community chapel centered on the Eucharist and devotion to Mary under the title Mother of the Eucharist. While the Motherhouse is not a parish, it hosts community worship, retreats, and events such as vocational discernment retreats.
