Greeley was named after New York newspaper publisher Horace Greeley, who urged the settlement of the new frontier with the words “Go west, young man, go west“.  Of course, at that point in time, Colorado was the far west. The city is a college town, home to the University of Northern Colorado and Aims Community College.

If you happen to be traveling in late June or early July, you may find yourself in town for the annual Greeley Stampede: a 10-day event featuring a rodeo, concerts, carnival ride and parades.

I know we’ve said this a hundred times, but we are going to say it again:  There is hunger for traditional church architecture that inspires.  Here in Greeley, you will find a church that his been remodeled and now actually looks like a Catholic church!  It has an interior that inspires and tells you that you are definitely in a Catholic house of worship,  The beautiful stained glass windows add greatly to the interior…especially the one of Saint Joseph holding the baby Jesus.
