Euclid, Ohio: National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes

About The National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes:

Here in Euclid, Ohio you will find the oldest known replica of the shrine and grotto at Lourdes, France.  The shrine is under the auspices of the Sisters of the Most Holy Trinity.  Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine was opened on Trinity Sunday, May 30, 1926 by the Good Shepherd Sisters on property that was home to the ‘Harms Farms.’   In 1952, the Sisters of the Most Holy Trinity took over the operation of the Shrine.

There two pieces of stone taken from the rock where the Virgin Mary appeared to Bernadette embedded in the grotto here and another one is in a reliquary in the gift shop.

Among their Sunday activities (seasonal) are Mass in the chapel or in the Grotto (weather permitting), Breakfast in St. Ann’s Dining Room, Lunch in St. Ann’s Dining Room, 3:00 pm –Stations of the Cross and 4:00 pm – Rosary, Homily, Benediction

In their gift shop they have a large selection of gift items for Holy Communion, Confirmation, and Baptism, Weddings, and Anniversary celebrations.  And the gift shop also carries cards and gifts for religious professions and clergy ordination anniversaries.

The Shrine is open on a seasonal basis so be sure to check their website for hours.  It is not a parish, so they do not schedule weddings,  first communions or other events that take place in a parish.
