Columbus, Ohio: Pontifical College Josephinum

About the Pontifical College Josephinum:

Since the Josephinum was founded in 1888, zealous young men eager to grow in holiness and labor for the salvation of souls have been received as seminarians at the Pontifical College Josephinum.

A Pontifical College, also known as a Pontifical University or Athenaeum, is a Roman Catholic seminary or university that has received the special approval and patronage of the Holy See, the central governing body of the Catholic Church. This status signifies a particular connection and responsibility to the Pope and the Church

As America’s only pontifical seminary, the Josephinum welcomes those interested in their academic programs, both undergraduate and graduate, where qualified candidates are afforded the opportunity to receive the finest possible education and formation for the Catholic priesthood.

Visiting the Pontifical College Josephinum:

Seminarians enjoy sharing their beautiful campus with guests, primarily on Tour Day held on a designated Saturday each fall.

In addition to Tour Day, seminarian tour guides offer large group tours (15 persons or more) by advanced appointment.

The daily schedule of seminary life does not accommodate individual or walk-in tours, or special Masses in conjunction with group tours.

To inquire about a group tour please email: tours@pcj.edu.
