About the Shrine of Saint Therese of Lisieux in Juneau:
Located in what can only be described as a magnificent setting, this shrine dedicated to Saint Therese of Lisieux (who is patron saint of Alaska) offers retreat opportunities for individuals, families and large groups. There are several types of cabins for rent for those wishing to make a retreat. The St. Therese Shrine in Juneau, Alaska was added by the U.S. bishops to the national list of Shrines in the U.S. in 2016.
Or if you just plan a visit for the day, there is a chapel, rosary and garden trail, stations of the Cross and more that make for a wonderful opportunity to slow down and get in touch with God. There is also a gift shop on the premises.
Mass is offered at 1:30 p.m. on Sundays during the summer beginning on Memorial Day and ending on Labor Day. There are also special Masses from time to time, so check with the shrine office to get the latest information.
The location—directly on the ocean—in addition to its serenity, is a great place for whale watching if you happen to visit at the right time.

The shrine is located just about 22 miles outside of Juneau and there is no public transportation available, so you either need to have your own vehicle or take a taxi to the shrine.
