About the Netherlands:

The tiny nation of Netherlands (In English sentences, the country is always referred to as “the Netherlands” even though “Netherlands” can be used). The Netherlands is one of Europe’s main destinations, as well as a transfer point for many flying to Europe through Amsterdam’s Schilphol Airport.

The Netherlands is roughly the size of the U.S. states of Maryland or West Virginia, being larger than Maryland but smaller than West Virginia, and would fit in around 236 times within the U.S.

Amsterdam:  The Dutch capital of Amsterdam presents a study in contrasts, with its infamous red light district; marijuana bars as opposed to several sites of great spirituality. Perhaps in no other city do we have such opposite extremes.  Among the Catholic places of interest in Amsterdam are The Eucharistic Miracle of Amsterdam; The Shrine of Our Lady of All Nations; The Attic Church (Our Lord in the Attic)

Lobith:  Church of the Immaculate Conception

Oosterhout:
Sint-Catharinadal (“Valley of St. Catherine”) Monastery

Schiedam:
Basilica of St. Liduina, Church of Saint John

Utrecht
The Museum of Saint Catherine offers a great opportunity to view the religious history of The Netherlands
