About the Cathedral of Santa María de la Encarnación in Granada, Spain:
After the Reconquista of Spain and the expulsion of the Moors, the foundations for the church were laid by the Enrique Egas; on top of what had been the city’s main mosque. Construction took place over many decades (1523–1703). This Gothic Cathedral is dedicated to “Saint Mary of the Incarnation” and is located within the Alhambra (fortress) in Granada.
