About The Oratory of the Caballero de Gracia (the Knight of Grace):
One of Madrid’s most interesting sites, it is often overlooked, even though it is in the center of the city. It was designed by Juan de Villanueva in neoclassical style, resembling a small Roman basilica.
The Oratory belongs to the Eucharistic Association of the Knight of Grace, founded by Jacobo Gratii, the Knight of Grace, at the end of the 16th century. The main purpose of the Association is to spread the devotion to the Eucharist, in addition to Mary Immaculate and St. Joseph, Patron of the Oratory.
There are some wonderful art works inside, especially highlights the image of the Holy . Christ of the Agony, considered one of the best carvings of the Lord in the Cross in Madrid.
The Oratory is entrusted to priests of Opus Dei. There are several Masses daily.
The Blessed Sacrament is exposed throughout the day, except for the hours when the Mass is celebrated.
