About Radošovce, Slovakia:
Located in western Slovakia, the town was first mentioned 1216 (or ~1208–1209) as Radichov. Earliest written mention in 1297 (as villas Rasolyz). An older settlement was destroyed by Hussites in the 15th century; a new one appears as the market town Rassich by 1473. It received market rights in 1554, belonged mainly to the Holíč estate, had vineyards, and historically involved agriculture, weaving, and oil pressing. A Jewish community existed (synagogue built 1830). Hungarian name: FelsőradosRadošovce, Slovakia:It belonged to estates such as Dobrá Voda; became an independent municipality on January 1, 1991 after separation from Jaslovské Bohunice (it had been incorporated earlier).
The population is about 1,711 as of December 31, 2025, predominantly Slovak ethnicity, the majority are Roman Catholic.
Local folk traditions are maintained. Radošovce was the home of astronomer and physicist Ľudmila Pajdušáková (1916–1979), who discovered/co-discovered five comets, directed the Astronomical Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, and has asteroid (3636) Pajdušáková named after her; a memorial plaque was unveiled in the village in 2016. Another noted native is painter/sculptor Štefan Nejeschleba.
The population is about 383 (as of Dec 2025), mostly Slovak. The majority are Roman Catholic.

Stories of healing have long been associated with a spring near Radošovce. The site later became a Catholic pilgrimage spot, where Mass is still celebrated once a year. The mineral-rich water is said to help with skin and digestive problems. People also tell the story of eyesight being restored after the eyes were rinsed with water from the spring.
One local story concerns a lumberjack with sores on his hands. He is said to have washed them in the spring while praying to the Virgin Mary. After his condition improved, he is said to have built a small stone grotto and placed a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes inside.
Another tells of the daughter of a noblewoman from Vienna whose eyesight was said to have improved after she washed her eyes with the spring water.
It is interesting that such a small town would have two Catholic churches.
