Poitiers: Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Poitiers (Saint Pierre Cathedral )

About the Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Poitiers (Saint Pierre Cathedral):

In a country of beautiful Cathedrals, this one still stands out as one of the best. It was built in the 12th century by Eleanor of Aquitaine and her husband Henry II of England. The Cathedral has magnificent stained glass windows, and one of them portrays Henry and Eleanor in the great window in the front of the Cathedral.

Finding the Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Poitiers in Poitiers, France:

Less than 10 minutes walk through streets from centre. This is superb, especially considering its history. It is worth it for the stained glass windows alone in my opinion. Lovely, quiet and serene
