Located in the southern part of Cameroon, Yaoundé is spread over 7 hills (something in common with Rome) and is the capital city of Cameroon. It covers some 69.5 square miles (180 square kilometers), with a population of 4.854 million (as of 2025).

In the Lake Quarter, the former presidential palace is home to the National Museum, with cultural exhibits such as masks and sculptures.

Regional carriers like Camair-Co, ASKY Airlines, and RwandAir also serve the capital city primarily flying into Douala (DLA) and Yaoundé (NSI).
