The Archcatheral of the Holy Spirit (formally called The “Archcathedral of the Holy Name of the Blessed Virgin Mary”) is a major landmark in Minsk. Built 1633-1642 as the main church for a Catholic Bernardine convent, it later became Orthodox, then secularized (gym, prison), and finally restored as the Roman Catholic Archcathedral of Minsk-Mohilev in 1993.

The Archcathedral of the Holy Spirit serves as the main Catholic Cathedral and is built in Baroque style, with impressive frescoes, vaulted ceilings, and a beautiful altar.

It houses the Minsk Icon of the Mother of God and relics of Saint Sofia of Slutsk.
