About The Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter:

The Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter is equivalent to a diocese, created by the Vatican in 2012 for people nurtured in the Anglican tradition..mostly Episcopalians and Methodists….. who felt called to become members of the Catholic Church.  This includes not only lay people, but priests and deacons as well.

The Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter was created by the Vatican in 2012 a Latin Church ecclesiastical jurisdiction for Anglican and Methodist converts in the United States and Canada. It allows these parishioners to maintain elements of Anglican liturgy and tradition in their services.   It allows these parishioners to maintain elements of Anglican liturgy and tradition in their services.

The Liturgy is Roman Rite, celebrated with elements of Anglican patrimony according to Divine Worship: The Missal.  There is one Diocese, based in Houston, Texas, covering all of the U.S. and Canada.  As of 2023, the Diocese had 1 Bishop, 69 priests and 41 parishes and communities.
