About the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Venantius in Fabriano, Italy:

The cathedral’s origins trace back to the 11th century, with the earliest documented mention around 1047 (some sources note records from 1160). It evolved from a modest early structure. Significant Gothic elements from the 14th century survive in parts like the apse, cloister, and the Chapel of St. Lawrence.

This rebuild gave it the title of a symbol of “Fabriano Baroque.” Later additions and decorations continued into the 17th and 18th centuries.

The exterior features a classic Baroque facade with a brick construction, pilasters, a pediment, and a central portal framed by columns, approached by a wide staircase.

The interior is a single wide nave lined with six chapels on each side, richly decorated with gilded stuccoes, friezes, and ceiling frescoes.
