Paris: Le Train Bleu Restaurant

About Le Train Bleu:

Although it does not fall under any category of Catholic travel, we highly recommend a visit to Le Train Bleu if have the opportunity.  In a city renowned for great restaurants, Le Train Bleu is a unique dining experience. It takes you back to a more elegant time when fine dining used to be a much more formal, exclusive, and French-centric experience defined by a strict, formal setting with elaborate menus, specific etiquette, including starched white linens and a specific service style. The style was heavily dominated by French cooking techniques and classic haute cuisine, with an emphasis on meticulous preparation and presentation

It was considered a display of wealth and status, originally tied to royal courts and later to a certain affluent clientele.
Restaurants were often part of a larger luxury operation, like the partnership between César Ritz and Auguste Escoffier at the Grand Hotel in Monte Carlo.  We often like to imaging that we see Hercule Poirot sitting in one of the booths as he goes off to solve some interesting mystery

That atmosphere is still present today at Le Train Bleu in Paris.Le Train Bleu is located inside the Gare de Lyon train station in Paris, France.
