Bengaluru, Karnataka, India: Saint Anthony’s Church

About Saint Anthony’s Church in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India:

This Catholic parish is run by the Franciscan Friars (OFM) and is one of the well-known and older churches in the city, with a history dating back to a small chapel established in 1952 in the Adugodi area. It became an official parish in 1953, and a multi-purpose hall was added in 1976 as the community grew. The architecture blends contemporary elements with devotional spaces, making it visually iconic and features a distinctive modern design with a tall, striking blue-and-white chevron-patterned concrete steeple topped by a cross, stained-glass windows, a central courtyard, and a spacious forecourt with a statue of Jesus.

It serves a multilingual and diverse congregation, with masses typically offered in English, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam. The annual feast of St. Anthony of Padua (June 13) is a major celebration, often with special schedules, processions, and events. The church is open daily (roughly 6 AM to 7–7:30 PM) and hosts regular weekday and Sunday services, confessions, and community activities.
