Considered the birthday of The Church, Pentecost marks the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles and other followers of Jesus, as described in the Acts of the Apostles, Chapter 2. It is celebrated 50 days after Easter and is the final day of the Easter season.
It is believed to have taken place in the Upper Room in Jerusalem, the same room that was also the site of the Last Supper.
